Automotive Dry Ice Cleaning

St. Louis's Only Dry Ice Blasting + Krown Rust Protection Service

What We Offer

We offer a range of services to meet the needs of every client. Have something else in mind? We'd be happy to work with you to create a custom quote.

  • The most thorough automotive dry ice cleaning available. Engine bay, full undercarriage, and wheel wells — done together, in one appointment, on a vehicle that's already on the lift.

We start with an initial wash to knock down heavy surface buildup, hand degrease the engine bay, then work through the entire vehicle systematically — undercarriage, suspension components, chassis, wheel wells, and engine bay — until every surface is clean down to bare metal.

This is the service for vehicles entering a full restoration, heading to a show, going to auction, or simply receiving the deep clean they've deserved for years.

    What's included:

    • Full undercarriage & chassis cleaning

    • Both wheel wells, including suspension components

    • Engine bay cleaning including around hoses, sensors, and wiring

    • Final inspection

    Full Vehicle Package — $3,000 + consumables

  • The most popular service for classic and collector vehicles. We start with an initial wash to knock down heavy surface buildup, then follow with dry ice blasting to remove what water alone cannot — decades of road tar, undercoating residue, oil deposits, mud, and grime from every surface, seam, and cavity underneath your vehicle.

The result is a chassis that looks the way it did when it left the factory. Original undercoating, stampings, and markings are preserved. Hidden rust, cracks, and damage are revealed — not covered over.

Typically a 1–2 day process depending on vehicle condition and size.

  • A careful, deliberate cleaning of the most sensitive area of your vehicle. We apply dry ice to sensors, injectors, wiring, and components — getting into areas that a rag or brush can never reach.

Because dry ice is completely dry and non-conductive, there is no risk of shorting connections, damaging insulation, or forcing moisture into places it shouldn't be. The result is an engine bay that looks factory-correct and runs cooler by eliminating the insulating layer of baked-on grime.

  • Targeted cleaning of wheel wells and surrounding surfaces — one of the hardest areas to clean properly by any other method. Packed road grime, tar, brake dust, and old undercoating buildup are removed from surfaces that see the worst of every road.

    -$800 + consumables

*All pricing is subject to change based on vehicle condition, vehicle size, and the cost of materials and consumables. Final pricing will be confirmed at the time of your free estimate.

  • Have individual components that need cleaning? Bring in disassembled parts — suspension components, engine blocks, transmissions, brackets, wheels, or any off-vehicle piece — and we blast them clean. Ideal for restoration projects where parts are already on the bench.

Parts must be removed from the vehicle.

  • Rust doesn't start on the surface — it starts in the seams, spot welds, and hidden cavities where moisture collects and sits. Krown is a petroleum-based rust inhibitor engineered to get there first. Unlike rubberized undercoatings that coat the outside of metal and can crack or chip over time, Krown stays fluid — penetrating into the places a spray gun can't reach, displacing moisture, and forming a continuous protective film that self-heals around abrasions.

Applied annually, Krown is the preferred rust protection for collectors, daily drivers, fleet operators, and anyone who wants their vehicle to last. As St. Louis's authorized Krown dealer, we apply it ourselves — which means when you combine it with a dry ice clean, it goes onto bare metal in ideal conditions, with no contamination between the surface and the product.

    Cars $149.95 · Minivan/SUV $159.95 · XL SUV/Truck $169.95

Applied as a standalone service or immediately following dry ice cleaning for maximum protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is dry ice cleaning more expensive than a regular detail? Dry ice pellets cost up to $2.00 per pound and our machine uses up to 2 lbs per minute. Add in the refrigerated compressed air system required to deliver dry ice at the right conditions and you have an expensive process to run. What you get in return is a level of clean that no other method can match — and no residue left behind to clean up afterward.

Will dry ice remove rust? Dry ice is not a rust removal tool for heavily pitted surfaces. It is non-abrasive by design, meaning it lifts surface contamination without cutting into the material beneath. For surface rust and loose oxidation, it performs well. For deep rust pitting, manual grinding or media blasting is the right call — and we offer that too. We'll be honest with you about which method your vehicle actually needs.

Is it safe for my classic car's original paint, markings, and undercoating? Yes — this is exactly why dry ice is the preferred method for collector vehicles. It will not etch, scratch, or profile original surfaces. Factory chalk marks, date codes, body stamps, and original undercoating are preserved. The cleaning aggression can be dialed down for the most delicate surfaces and up for heavy buildup — the same machine handles both.

How long does it take? Engine bay cleaning is typically a half-day. A full undercarriage is one to two days, depending on the vehicle's size and condition. We don't rush collector vehicles. If you're adding Krown after the blast, plan for the same day or the following morning, depending on scheduling.

Do I need to do anything to prepare my vehicle? No special preparation required. If your vehicle has an extremely heavy buildup of grease or oil, we'll perform an initial wash before blasting — that's included in the process. Just bring it in as-is.

Can you work on my daily driver, not just classics? Absolutely. While collector and classic vehicles are a specialty, dry ice cleaning is equally effective on any vehicle — daily drivers, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, RVs, and heavy equipment. The same process, the same result.

  • "I've owned this '69 Camaro for 22 years and never seen the undercarriage look like this. The factory stampings were still there under all that grime. Worth every penny."

    — James, St. Louis

  • "I was skeptical about dry ice on my bike. Didn't want anything near the chrome or the wiring. They walked me through the whole process and the results were unreal. Left for Sturgis two days later and got more compliments on the underside of that bike than the paint job."

    — Rick, Maplewood

  • "Sixty years of Missouri roads were caked into the undercarriage of my F-100. I thought I was going to have to media blast the whole thing and start over. BIBS dry ice blasted the entire chassis, both wheel wells, and the engine bay in two days. Original paint codes were still on the firewall when they were done. I couldn't believe it."

    — Gary, Fenton
