This historic ceiling was damaged by fire over 30 years ago. We successfully restored it using our dry ice-blasting process. Cleaning up from fire damage can cost you valuable time and money when using traditional methods. CO2 Cleaning has become the preferred method for removing smoke, soot, vaporized synthetic resins, and char, and reduces the musty, burnt smell that results from a fire disaster. It is a fast and efficient way of removing smoke and fire damage, reducing your downtime and allowing your business to recover faster and be back up and running.
CO2 blasting is versatile and enables greater access to roofs, attics, crawl spaces, etc., and provides fast and efficient removal of smoke and fire damage. Tight angles of trusses, around nails, wiring, and all plumbing can be cleaned without damage to the surface integrity. In addition, there are no harmful chemicals used and no secondary waste to clean up, unlike other blasting media, such as soda, sand, and water. CO2 blasting is equally effective on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry, making this the best technique to use for fire restoration.
Benefits To You:
The fastest rate of removal
Environmentally friendly – no secondary waste, dust-free cleaning
A natural biocide
Minimizes demolition
Eliminates sanding & scraping
Versatile – greater access to tight areas
Better penetration – behind & between structural members without damage to surface integrity
Cleaning Plastic Injection Molds
Plastic mold cleaning
PLASTIC MOLDING – MANUFACTURING
Cleaning up from a plastic molding production run can cost you valuable time and money when using traditional methods. Dry ice blasting has become the preferred method for removing waxy, paraffin build up and product residues. It is non-abrasive, environmentally friendly, and sublimates upon contact leaving NO secondary waste and or residue. Dry ice blasting is also non-conductive so electric motors and circuitry can be safely cleaned.
Current cleaning methods lower productivity for long running parts. Dry ice blasting cleans the mold surfaces while the mold is at curing temperature in the press. Plastic injection screws can be cleaned during compound or color changeover. This reduces your downtime since surfaces need not be cooled or reheated.

DRY ICE BLASTING FOR ELECTRICAL POWER GENERATION PROFESSIONALS
PEAK PERFORMANCE WITH LESS OUTAGE TIME
Power Generation professionals know one key to peak performance is clean electrical equipment. However, the demand to keep the equipment running often leads to deferred cleaning and maintenance, reduced efficiency, and in some cases, outages caused by flashover. Dry ice blasting solves that problem. It is fast, dry, and leaves no secondary waste to clean up. The outage time typically needed for cleaning can be reduced by up to 65%.
Dry ice blasting provides a non-conductive, environmentally responsible, green cleaning process that allows the equipment to be cleaned in place, without cooling down or disassembly. This process is non-abrasive so there is no damage to cables, insulation or sensitive components.

Hazard Alert: Combustible Dust Explosions
Combustible dusts are fine particles that present an explosion hazard when suspended in air in certain conditions. A dust explosion can be catastrophic and cause employee deaths, injuries, and destruction of entire buildings. In many combustible dust accidents, employers and employees were unaware that a hazard even existed. It is important to determine if your company has this hazard, and if you do, you must take action now to prevent tragic consequences.
How Dust Explosions Occur
In addition to the familiar fire triangle of oxygen, heat, and fuel (the dust), dispersion of dust particles in sufficient quantity and concentration can cause rapid combustion known as a deflagration. If the event is confined by an enclosure such as a building, room, vessel, or process equipment, the resulting pressure rise may cause an explosion.
These five factors (oxygen, heat, fuel, dispersion, and confinement) are known as the “Dust Explosion Pentagon”. If one element of the pentagon is missing, an explosion cannot occur.
Catastrophic Secondary Explosions
An initial (primary) explosion in processing equipment or in an area where fugitive dust has accumulated may dislodge more accumulated dust into the air, or damage a containment system (such as a duct, vessel, or collector). As a result, if ignited,
Initial Explosion Secondary Explosion the additional dust dispersed into the air may cause one or more secondary explosions. These can be far more destructive than a primary explosion due to the increased quantity and concentration of dispersed combustible dust. Many deaths in past accidents, as well as other damage, have been caused by secondary explosions.
Industries at Risk
Combustible dust explosion hazards exist in a variety of industries, including agriculture, chemicals, food (e.g., candy, sugar, spice, starch, flour, feed), grain, fertilizer, tobacco, plastics, wood, forest, paper, pulp, rubber, furniture, textiles, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, tire and rubber manufacturing, dyes, coal, metal processing (e.g., aluminum, chromium, iron, magnesium, and zinc), recycling operations, and fossil fuel power generation (coal).
Prevention of Dust Explosions
To identify factors that may contribute to an explosion, OSHA recommends a thorough hazard assessment of:
All materials handled;
All operations conducted, including byproducts;
All spaces (including hidden ones); and
All potential ignition sources.

What is Dry Ice Blasting or CO2 Cleaning?
Dry ice Cleaning heavy machinery
You may be wondering just what is CO2 cleaning or dry ice blasting. CO2 cleaning (dry ice blasting) is a relatively new cleaning process that uses compressed air to accelerate frozen carbon dioxide (dry ice) pellets to a supersonic speed to impact and clean a surface.
The dry ice temperature of 79 degrees C causes a micro-thermal shock. The combination of kinetic energy, dry ice pellets, and the air pressure break the bond between the coating and the substrate. The coating pops off from inside out with the air stream removing it from the surface.
The pellets leave no residue by converting directly from a solid blast pellet to a vapor, thus eliminating the need and cost of media disposal. This cleaning process has many benefits. To find out in more detail on how CO2 cleaning can be a benefit to your industry call us we will be happy to speak with you regarding your next project.
CO2 CLEANING BENEFITS:
Less Downtime Hours – CO2 cleaning is faster and more efficient, eliminating disassembly prior to cleaning.
Totally Non-Abrasive – CO2 cleaning will not damage or etch equipment, such as bearings, rollers and seals.
No Solvents – Harmless CO2 pellets that evaporate upon contact take the place of solvents.
Waste Disposal Reduction – Since the Co2 pellets evaporate, the only waste to dispose of is the contaminant itself.
Prolongs Equipment’s Useful Life – The surface being cleaned wears more slowly allowing it to maintain its integrity. Other cleaning methods can damage and change the structure of the surface. CO2 cleaning is non-abrasive and will not change the structure of the surface. Another factor to consider is that the equipment does not have to be moved and can be cleaned in place. This eliminates the possible damage to equipment when being moved.
Increased Safety – Safe for the environment, employees, equipment and facility.
